NEWS

I invite you to visit the newest Sacred Images gallery of planetary yantra. Here you will find yantra representing Sun, Moon, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury.

Plans are to expand the planetary selection with Ketu and Rahu, along with adding additional interpretations of the various planets. A planetary yantra, used alone or in conjunction with specific corresponding individual planetary mantra, can be effectively used as a propitiatory device to either enhance beneficial possibilities, or to aid in circumventing less favorable tendencies according to oneʼs individual Vedic astrological chart.

These yantra can be ordered as prints in the standard sizes offered by Sacred Images. If the size desired is not met by the sizes listed, please feel free to contact me at: pennylea@sacredimagespublishing.com, so that the appropriate size can be ordered on an individual basis.

To learn more about Vedic astrology, or to determine which planetary yantra is most appropriate for you, please visit the website of the Northwest Institute of Vedic Sciences.

New also you will find additional images available in both the original Yantra and Sacred Images Collection galleries.

Planetary Yantra

A Yantra is a geometric composition that reveals a particular energy configuration whose power increases in exact proportion to the abstraction and precision of the diagram. Used together with mantra, or seed sound syllables, each Yantra displays the patterns of force heard in the mantra.

Yantras are great cosmic conductors of energy, an antenna of Nature, a powerful tool for harmony, prosperity, success, good health, yoga and meditation.

Yantras have geometrical and mathematical rhythms of natural forces, which act to attract and absorb cosmic energy. It’s a bit like how your TV or radio antenna works with the elements for better reception of frequencies.

Living with a yantra allows the practitioner to develop a personal relationship with the deity or planetary energies represented within the form of the yantra.

The planetary yantra, now included in the offerings from Sacred Images Publishing, allow you the opportunity to create a personal relationship with the consciousness represented by each individual pattern of the nine planets or Nava Graha.

Practice Suggestions

A simple daily practice of yantra/mantra use can be highly effective in creating more harmonious planetary influences in one’s life. Nothing beats personal experience…you are your own best laboratory. Ideally, agree to conduct this practice yourself for a minimum of 40 days (80 or 120).

  • Designate a quiet space and time about the same time daily, and sit comfortably.
  • Place your yantra in a place where it can be undisturbed and at comfortable eye level during your practice.
  • Spend a few minutes either in pranayam or in a comfortable practice to quiet your mind. If you practice a meditation technique, perform yantra/mantra practice at the end of your regular meditation time.
  • With eyes open, gently rest your gaze on your yantra. At a comfortable pace perform a minimum of 108 repetitions of your planetary mantra, maintaining a soft gaze. Try to keep your repetitions in multiples of 108…a mala (a string of 108 beads) is suggested to keep track of your repetitions. ( Mantras are best, chanted or recited with unwavering devotion and motivation. Chanting them as a matter-of-course deprives them of power, and may diminish the intended growth of consciousness and effect.)
  • At the end of your practice offer internal thanks…you are cultivating direct relationship with the planet you are engaged with.
  • Gently re-enter your regular activity.

You can repeat this practice twice a day (or more) if you desire. One repetition of 108 mantra … including time to quiet down prior to practice, can be done in ten minutes. It is common for more than one repetition of a mala to be chanted in one sitting. Pace your practice to your available time.
